Khadi is an environment friendly hand woven cotton cloth especially used to make clothes. This cloth can be called freedom fabric as clothes made out of it were quite prominent during India’s freedom struggle. In spite of this, Khadi has not gone out of fashion even now, and hence it can be also called fashion fabric.
The cloth is quite adaptable, and clothes made from cotton can be given an ethnic, contemporary and even a sporty look. The cloth’s versatility also helps you to turn dreamy creative ideas into beautiful style statements. Khadi has come a long way from the pre-independence years to the designer boutiques of today. In fact, it is so popular that one can find clothes made of Khadi on the ramp as well as in the movies in both western and Indo-western looks.
Today, youngsters are attracted more towards Khadi clothes as they can experiment with new styles every now and then. Another category of people , Khadi attracts is the office going gentry as these clothes are comfortable during the hot and humid summers, and turn protective in winters.
On one hand while Khadi helps you to stay cool by making you stand out in the crowd, on the other it is also fashionable as it can be worn formally as well as informally. We are always in search of the unconventional. Therefore, I chose to try out some handmade, environment friendly clothes instead of my regulars. And for this I chose Lila. They have clothes of unique styles, and this is what I call ‘Change in Fashion’.
For my look I picked this orange top. But I wanted it to look different and chic. Hence, I paired it with a palazzo, which gave me overall an uber look. The top is a great combination of color, smart cut and a bow at the neckline; and depending on what you’re pairing it with, it can be worn formally and informally. It will only add elegance if added to your closet as it is comfortable, fashionable and chic, yet rooted in traditions. The complete outfit and the color combination is eye catching and will definitely flaunt your inner beauty.
